Parliament Deputies Suggest Establishing Migration Center in Kyrgyzstan

On August 21, 2024, the 24.kg news agency reported on a proposal by deputies of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan to open a migration center aimed at assisting citizens planning to move to Russia. Vice Speaker of Parliament Nurlanbek Azygaliev discussed this initiative with Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Boris Chernyshov during a meeting in Cholpon-Ata.
The migration center is intended to provide Kyrgyz citizens with essential information before they embark on their journey to Russia. This includes familiarizing them with the procedural aspects and requirements of Russian migration legislation. The goal is to offer comprehensive support to individuals seeking to work and live in Russia.
During the meeting, the officials also focused on strengthening interethnic ties and addressing the challenges faced by Kyrgyz expatriates in Russia. Azygaliev emphasized the importance of preparing citizens for the migration process, while Chernyshov mentioned the upcoming visit of Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin to Bishkek, which is expected to further enhance bilateral relations.
The establishment of a migration center could potentially streamline the migration process for Kyrgyz nationals and ensure they are well-informed about the requirements and regulations in Russia. This initiative highlights the government’s efforts to support its citizens as they seek employment opportunities abroad.
