Kyrgyzstan Creates Deputy Commission to Bring Deputy Adakhan Madumarov to Criminal Responsibility
The Parliament of Kyrgyzstan has established a deputy commission to bring deputy Adakhan Madumarov to criminal responsibility, following a proposal from the Prosecutor General’s Office. The announcement was made during the parliament’s plenary session on Wednesday.
The commission is comprised of members of parliament, including Karim Khandzheza, Kunduzbek Sulaimanov, Dinara Ashimova, Mirgul Temirbaeva, Gulya Kozhogulova, Muradil Sadykov, Farkhad Alimdzhanov, and Mirlan Samyikozho.
According to reports, Madumarov is suspected of attempting to organize mass riots, attempting to seize power by force, and abusing his power. Madumarov has stated that the submission from the Prosecutor General’s Office is not new to him.
The establishment of the deputy commission is a significant step towards ensuring that those responsible for criminal offenses are held accountable, regardless of their position. The Kyrgyz authorities must exercise due process and ensure that the investigation and any subsequent proceedings are fair and impartial.
