Parliament Gears Up for New Legislative Year with Installation of Emergency Medical Intervention Button – Last Minute Turkey News

The Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) General Assembly is set to resume its 28th Term 3rd Legislative Year on Tuesday, October 1, following a brief recess after the session on July 29. The preparations for the new legislative year have been completed, with various maintenance and repair works carried out in the TBMM building.
Marbles on the floor of the main TBMM building and the Stairs of Honor were repaired and polished, while energy-saving LED lamps replaced the lighting fixtures in the Ceremony Hall and the main building facade. Additionally, all heating, cooling, and ventilation systems were maintained, and elevators, especially those for the disabled, were serviced.
To ensure smooth legislative activities, the electronic voting-polling and voice-over system in the General Assembly hall underwent periodic maintenance and functionality tests. A health unit serving as a first aid center with rapid intervention capabilities in emergencies was also set up in the Hall of Honor.
In case of emergencies, an emergency button was installed in the presidential council section for quick medical interventions. If pressed, the medical team will reach the General Assembly within approximately one minute.
Professional teams with mountaineering certificates cleaned the high windows in the TBMM Main Building and Public Relations Building, while detailed cleaning was carried out in office rooms, backstages, and group meeting hall seats of party groups. General cleaning of the nursery, daycare center, and kindergarten in the TBMM was also completed.
As the TBMM gears up to resume its legislative activities, the necessary measures have been taken to ensure the smooth functioning of the assembly and the safety and well-being of its members and staff.
