Parliament of Kyrgyzstan Removes National Bank Chief
Bishkek – The Parliament of Kyrgyzstan has made a decision to relieve Kubanychbek Bokontaev of his position as Chairman of the National Bank ahead of schedule. The deputies approved his resignation letter, bringing an end to his tenure as head of the bank since 2021.
According to sources from 24.kg news agency, two candidates have been proposed to fill the vacant position of the National Bank Chairman. These candidates include the head of the Accounts Chamber, Almazbek Akmatov, and the Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision, Melis Turgunbaev.
