Passenger Plane Skids Off Runway in Hakkari After Landing
A passenger plane flying from Ankara to Hakkari skidded off the runway and got stuck in the mud while taxiing after landing. The incident occurred at Selahaddin Eyyubi Airport in Yüksekova, where the plane was scheduled to land.
The plane, which departed from Ankara Esenboğa Airport at 11:30, experienced poor weather conditions in Yüksekova due to rain. After circling the skies, the aircraft made a second landing attempt but veered off the runway during the process.
Fortunately, there were no reported injuries among the passengers on board the plane. Airport authorities have initiated efforts to evacuate the passengers, including notable figures such as Esendere Town Mayor Dırbaz Büyüksu and Şemdinli Mayor Fahri Şakar.
A statement from AJet Press Counselor Mehmet Yeşilkaya addressed the incident on social media, confirming that flight VF4316 encountered difficulties with its front wheel getting stuck in the mud as a result of heavy rain during landing. Yeşilkaya assured the public that all passengers were safe and wished them a swift recovery.
