‘Peaceful Streets’ Inspection in Maltepe: GBT Conducted on 11,196 Individuals
Maltepe District Police Department Conducts Peace Inspection
The Maltepe District Police Department recently carried out a peace inspection throughout the district, with the participation of 140 police officers from the Public Security Branch Directorate. During the inspection, a total of 2,517 cars and 1,211 motorcycles were checked, with General Information Collection (GBT) conducted on 11,196 individuals.
As a result of the inspection, law enforcement officials were able to seize 1 unlicensed gun, 40 narcotic pills, and 46.9 grams of drugs. Additionally, 8 individuals who were wanted by authorities, 28 draft evaders, and 4 convicts with final prison sentences totaling 18 years, 4 months, and 4 days were apprehended.
Furthermore, 18 individuals were fined a total of 17,586 lira for the crime of ‘causing a disturbance to the environment’. The successful outcome of the peace inspection demonstrates the dedication of the Maltepe District Police Department to maintaining public safety and upholding the law.
