Pedro Pascal Joins Cast of “Gladiator 2”!
Ridley Scott’s “Gladiator” Sequel Cast Grows with New Names
As the highly anticipated sequel to “Gladiator” approaches, new names have been added to the already impressive cast. One of the most popular actors of the last period, Pedro Pascal, has made the final negotiations to be included in the film.
“Gladiator” won the Oscar for Best Picture in 2001. The story follows Maximus Decimus Meridius, a former general who is sold into slavery and forced to fight as a gladiator under the rule of Emperor Commodus. The sequel, “Gladiator 2,” will take place nearly 20 years after the events of the original movie and will center around Commodus and his nephew Lucius.
Connie Nielsen, who played Commodus’s sister, Lucille, in the original movie, has been confirmed to reprise her role in the sequel. Barry Keoghan will play the villain of the story, Emperor Geta, and Joseph Quinn will appear as Emperor Caracalla. Djimon Hounsou, who played a gladiator named Juba in the first movie, is also expected to return for the sequel.
Sets are already being built in Morocco for “Gladiator 2,” and filming will begin very soon. Although details about the roles played by Denzel Washington and Pedro Pascal are being kept a secret, fans are eagerly anticipating the release of the new movie. With an all-star cast and an experienced director at the helm, “Gladiator 2” is sure to be a hit.
