Pegasus Welcomed Nearly 32 Million Guests, Says Minister Uraloğlu

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu highlighted the success of Pegasus Airlines in 2023, stating that the airline alone hosted nearly 32 million guests, with 12 million being domestic guests and 20 million international guests. This resulted in over 2 billion dollars of service exports being brought to Turkey. Uraloğlu also emphasized the strategic advantage of Turkey’s geographical location, being at the center of 67 countries with a trade volume of 8 trillion 600 billion dollars.
Furthermore, Uraloğlu mentioned the growth of the aviation sector in Turkey, including the increase in the number of active airports from 26 to 57 and the expansion of international flight destinations. He credited the country’s air transportation policies and activities since 2002 for contributing to Turkey’s position as a rapidly developing country in the field of aviation.
Pegasus Airlines, in particular, was highlighted for its remarkable growth from organizing flights to 7 airports with 14 aircraft in 2005 to currently serving 135 destinations in 52 countries with a fleet of 110 aircraft. The airline’s cost-reducing strategies and focus on technology investments were commended by Uraloğlu. He emphasized Pegasus’ commitment to innovation, efficiency, and responsibility in the aviation industry.
Additionally, Pegasus was recognized with awards for environmental sustainability and having one of the youngest aircraft fleets in the world, solidifying its status as a global brand in the airline industry. Uraloğlu praised Pegasus for its achievements and contributions to the growth of the Turkish aviation sector.
