Penitentiary Service Gives Toys to Children of Incarcerated Mothers
Employees of the central office of the State Penitentiary Service of Kyrgyzstan have displayed a heartwarming act of kindness by donating playpens and toys to convicts with children serving their sentences in correctional institution No. 2 (women’s prison colony) in Stepnoye village, Alamedin district. This generous gesture was well received by the women and their children, providing them with a sense of comfort and support during their time in confinement.
The initiative to provide charitable assistance stemmed from the compassionate employees themselves, who wanted to make a positive difference in the lives of convicted mothers and their children. The gifts were personally handed over to the women by the head of the Main Directorate of Internal Investigations and the head of the Department of Educational, Social, and Psychological Work. During the interaction, emphasis was placed on the importance of adhering to the institution’s regulations and the hope for a swift reunion with their families.
The State Penitentiary Service expressed gratitude to the employees for their thoughtfulness and highlighted the ongoing efforts to improve the conditions for all convicts. From constructing new facilities to enhancing nutrition and creating job opportunities, the state remains steadfast in its commitment to the resocialization of individuals in correctional facilities.
Moreover, particular attention is being given to women with children to ensure a more humane environment for them within the confines of detention.
