Poacher Arrested for Capturing Songbirds in Botanical Garden
Bishkek Botanical Garden Employees Capture Poacher
In a collaborative effort, employees of the Botanical Garden in Bishkek, along with ecologists from the Ministry of Nature and a police officer from Oktyabrsky district, successfully apprehended a poacher.
The poacher was found in possession of cages containing songbirds that were illegally captured on the premises of the Botanical Garden located on Akhunbaev Street.
The Ministry of Nature officials promptly drafted a report and imposed a fine of 20,000 soms on the poacher. Once the fine was paid, the captured birds were released back into the wild.
This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of protecting wildlife and abiding by laws that prohibit the illegal capture and trade of animals. The collaborative effort between the Botanical Garden staff, ecologists, and law enforcement demonstrates a commitment to safeguarding the natural environment and preserving biodiversity in Kyrgyzstan.
