Poachers Arrested in Talas for Allegedly Bribing Police Officers

Law enforcement officers in the Talas region of Kyrgyz Republic have successfully detained two poachers who attempted to bribe a police officer. According to the regional Internal Affairs Department, on January 31st, officers from the Aitmatov Department of Internal Affairs discovered two individuals, identified as 38-year-old Sh.A. and B.M., in a mountainous area with guns while engaged in hunting.
Upon apprehension, the individuals were brought to the police department for further investigation. During the process, one of the suspects, B.M., allegedly attempted to bribe the investigator with 10,000 soms in exchange for not initiating a criminal case against him. As a result, B.M. has been charged under the article “Giving a bribe” of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Following these events, on February 1st, the Aitmatov District Court decided to release B.M. under house arrest while the investigation into the case continues. The authorities are committed to addressing illegal poaching activities and upholding the rule of law in the region.
This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of respecting wildlife conservation laws and the consequences of attempting to evade justice through bribery. Law enforcement agencies remain vigilant in combating such illegal activities to protect the natural heritage of the Kyrgyz Republic.
