Poznan Takes Unprecedented Action Against Mouse Infestation
The city of Poznan in Poland has been facing a major issue with mouse infestations spreading throughout the city. The problem was exacerbated during the restoration work for the historical Market Square, where mouse nests were destroyed, leading the rodents to scatter across the city.
In response to this growing problem, the Poznan Municipality has taken an unprecedented decision to combat the rodent population. The City Council announced that compulsory pest control measures will be implemented between 1-30 April to prevent the spread of diseases that rats and mice can carry.
As part of these measures, the municipal administration will require hospitals, restaurants, and houses to place mouse traps and take necessary steps to control the rodent population. Building owners will be tasked with closing holes and cracks to prevent mice from entering, while also placing traps to capture any rodents that may be present.
Commercial property owners and executives will be obligated to conduct pest control using special poisons and methods throughout the campaign period. The municipality and health services will ensure that these measures are followed to protect public health.
Additionally, building owners will be responsible for maintaining their properties by sealing entry points for rodents and placing mouse and rat control products in designated stations. These efforts aim to not only address the current mouse infestation but also prevent future occurrences.
