Police in Namangan prevent circulation of nearly 10,000 counterfeit dollars (video)

The State Security Service has successfully detained two individuals involved in illegal activities related to counterfeit banknotes. One of the detained individuals was caught importing counterfeit currency from Kyrgyzstan.

According to reports, the State Security Service intercepted a Honda car in the Pap district of Namangan region, driven by a 46-year-old resident of Chinaz. Upon inspection, authorities discovered that the man was transporting 4,000 counterfeit dollars to Tashkent.

Further investigation revealed that the man had purchased the fake currency for $2,200 with the intention of selling it in the future. The supplier of the counterfeit money was identified as a 53-year-old resident of the Yangikurgan district, who had previously been convicted.

During an undercover operation, the supplier was apprehended while exchanging 5,400 counterfeit dollars for $3,000 in genuine currency. It was discovered that the counterfeit money was being imported from Kyrgyzstan through the supplier’s accomplices.

A criminal case has been initiated under Article 176-2 of the Criminal Code, specifically for the manufacture and sale of counterfeit money on a large scale by a group of individuals. The investigation is ongoing to uncover the full extent of the operation.
