The incident began on February 6 when a 24-year-old woman, identified as S.E., filed a statement with the Main Department of Internal Affairs of Bishkek alleging that she was beaten and raped by an unknown individual in a hotel in the capital. Following her report, a case was opened under the article “Rape” of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Investigators from the Department of Internal Investigations of the Main Department of Internal Affairs of Bishkek, in collaboration with officials from the Department of Internal Affairs of Oktyabrsky district, were able to identify and apprehend the suspect. The individual was identified as police lieutenant K.U., an employee of the Department of Internal Affairs of Oktyabrsky district, and he was placed in a temporary detention facility.

Various examinations have been ordered in relation to the case, and the investigation remains ongoing. A source within law enforcement agencies disclosed to 24.kg news agency that the detained individual is indeed an employee of the Department of Internal Affairs of Oktyabrsky district in Bishkek.
