
Police seize 120 kg of drugs from clandestine greenhouse

A special greenhouse for drug production was discovered by the Provincial Gendarmerie Command Gendarmerie Crime Investigation Teams (JASAT) in Istanbul. The suspects were found to be selling the drugs they produced to individuals known as “bag dealers” throughout the city. Upon further investigation, it was determined that the suspects had turned a warehouse in Ataşehir into a drug production facility.
As a result of the operation carried out by JASAT teams, approximately 120 kilograms of skunk synthetic drug, 550 root cannabis plants, and 130 grams of cocaine were seized. Additionally, a car, 72 drying fans, 16 air conditioners, 8 carbon filters, 2 filtered chimneys, and 70 kilograms of fertilizer were confiscated. Authorities also seized approximately 86 thousand lira, 400 dollars, and 20 grams of gold believed to have been obtained through criminal activities.
Out of the 10 suspects apprehended during the operation, 8 have been arrested and sent to prison by the court. The remaining 2 suspects were released under judicial control. Efforts to capture other individuals connected to the incident are ongoing.
The discovery of the drug production facility highlights the ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and the illegal drug trade in Istanbul. Authorities continue to work diligently to identify and apprehend those involved in such activities in order to maintain the safety and well-being of the community.
