Positive Developments in Turkish-American Relations Ahead
Trade Minister Ömer Bolat, accompanied by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the United Nations General Assembly in New York, spoke at an event organized by the US branch of the Anatolian Lions Businessmen’s Association (ASKON) where he highlighted Turkey’s economic achievements and potential for growth.
In his speech, Minister Bolat praised President Erdoğan and his government for successfully steering Turkey away from global crises and tensions, positioning the country as a capable crisis manager. He pointed out Turkey’s economic expansion, particularly in foreign trade, highlighting the significant increase in exports from $1 billion per month in 1987 to $1 billion per day today.
Bolat emphasized Turkey’s export-driven growth model and expressed optimism about keeping the current account deficit under control in the near future. He credited the successful balancing process achieved under President Erdoğan’s leadership and outlined plans for sustainable growth with lower inflation rates.
Discussing the strengthening relations between Turkey and the US, Bolat noted the increased trade volume between the two countries, expected to reach $35 billion this year. He urged Turkish business people in the US to organize and collaborate effectively, citing the potential for their collective impact on politics, economy, and various sectors.
Minister Bolat encouraged Turkish business people in the US to seize opportunities and become “playmakers” in enhancing bilateral relations between Turkey and the US. He envisioned positive developments in future investments and collaborations, underscoring the importance of solidarity and strategic partnerships for both countries’ mutual benefit.
