FIFA Explores Possibility of Training and Methodological Center in Turkmenistan
The President of the International Football Federation (FIFA), Gianni Infantino, has expressed his interest in creating a FIFA training and methodological center in Turkmenistan. Infantino made this announcement during his visit to Ashgabat, where he met with the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
During the meeting, Infantino praised Turkmenistan’s contribution to the development of football and the country’s compliance with international standards. He further emphasized the importance of sport in promoting human health and acknowledged the creation of favorable conditions for sports in Turkmenistan.
In response, Berdimuhamedov expressed his full support for FIFA’s initiatives and proposals related to world football development. He also proposed utilizing Turkmenistan’s sports infrastructure for various international football tournaments.
In addition to the meeting with the President, Infantino held talks with Deputy Prime Minister Nurmuhammet Amannepesov to discuss the development of football in the country. The FIFA delegation also met with young Turkmen football players and visited the International Akhal-Teke Equestrian Complex.
Overall, the creation of a FIFA training and methodological center in Turkmenistan would mark a significant milestone for football development in the country and the region as a whole.
