Postponed Meeting in Grain Aisle
Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar has shared details regarding the upcoming meetings between the deputy ministers of defense of Turkey, Russia, and Ukraine. According to Akar, a technical meeting will be held tomorrow with the participation of technical personnel from the UN, Turkey, Russia, and Ukraine. This meeting will be followed by a meeting of the deputy ministers next week. The agenda for the meeting will focus on the evacuation of Turkish-flagged ships and the continuation of the “grain initiative,” which has been extended until May 18. Akar stated that the initiative has an important contribution to the stability in Africa and efforts are being made to ensure that it continues in a fast, safe, and planned manner. Both the technical meeting and the meeting of the deputy ministers are planned to take place in Istanbul. Akar expressed optimism that the studies will result in a positive outcome and efforts are being made to extend the initiative.
