Preparations underway for construction of Kambarata HPP-1: World Bank notified

Kyrgyz Minister of Energy Taalaibek Ibraev met with World Bank Country Manager Hugh Riddell to discuss the progress of the Kambar-Ata-1 Hydropower Plant (HPP) project. Additionally, the minister shared information on environmental and social assessments conducted in relation to the HPP’s construction.

The parties identified current issues requiring prompt resolution and agreed on next steps to commence the main construction phase of the Kambarata HPP-1. They reaffirmed their commitment to close cooperation for the successful implementation of the project.
