
President and First Lady visit Khojavand district, explore tourism projects in Tugh village

Azerbaijan’s President Aliyev and First Lady Aliyeva Visit Khojavand District to Discuss Tourism Projects
President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva, recently visited the Khojavand district to discuss tourism projects to be implemented in the village of Tugh. The Chairman of the State Tourism Agency, Fuad Nagiyev, informed the couple that the proposed tourism plan will cover three directions, including cultural tourism, tourism industry based on the “green destination” and ecotourism concept, as well as sustainable and community-based tourism development.
The first phase of the project will focus on conserving the residential building of the former school in Tugh, while the surrounding land will undergo landscaping to create a more welcoming environment for tourists. The Winery in the area will also be developed using modern tourism concepts, with plans to create a Culinary Art Training Center on the premises to showcase Azerbaijani cuisine and experimental culinary methods.
The center will feature a kitchen, reception and tasting rooms, and will help popularize Azerbaijani culture through food. This development is part of Azerbaijan’s push to become a popular tourism destination, with plans to expand the industry in a sustainable and community-focused way.
President Aliyev and First Lady Aliyeva showed their support for the project and expressed their hope that it would attract more tourists to the area, boosting economic development in Khojavand district.
