“President Erdogan and Biden Discuss Key Issues in Phone Call”

President Joe Biden of the United States has expressed his belief that the West’s intervention against Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s government is unfair during a phone call between the two leaders. This was according to Hande Fırat, Ankara Representative for Hürriyet Newspaper, who also revealed that other issues such as the F-16 and Sweden’s NATO membership were discussed during the call. President Biden also expressed his desire to push forward with the F-16 issue, which has met with resistance from Turkey due to a Swedish condition in Congress. NATO membership was also discussed during the call.
Meanwhile, it has been revealed that Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy will both be visiting Turkey. The visits come amid Turkey’s efforts at mediation in the ongoing war, with the country also committed to extending the grain corridor. Many foreign heads of state have also confirmed their attendance for an upcoming ceremony in the country.
President Biden’s words in the recent phone call with President Erdoğan are sure to go down in history as a reflection of the current situation in the region. It remains to be seen how the situation in Turkey will develop as the country continues to navigate the challenges it faces.
