Uzbekistan to Establish Cooperation with Top Higher Education Institutions for Joint Study Programs

Uzbekistan is set to collaborate with some of the world’s top universities to introduce joint study programs within the country. Around 50 joint study programs and a double degree system are expected to be put in place, according to the country’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who announced the move on May 30.

Furthermore, the country will send 500 talented young students to study at prestigious foreign universities in biotechnology, artificial intelligence, and other high-tech areas. The government of Uzbekistan will cover all the expenses, with $200 million allocated for this purpose.

Mirziyoyev disclosed that $1 billion will be set aside over the next seven years to promote the advancement of science and innovation in the country.
