President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Commends OIC Meeting on Social Media
In a recent development, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan shared a post on his social media account following the Extraordinary Meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Executive Committee held in Cizre. The President expressed his appreciation for the meeting, stating that it effectively demonstrated the Islamic world’s determination in the face of Israel’s increasing oppression. He emphasized the solidarity of the Islamic world with the Palestinian people and their support for the Palestinian cause.
President Erdoğan further stated that significant efforts have been made since October 7 to resolve the crisis, which poses risks to the entire region. In this regard, he revealed that he has had phone calls with 18 leaders of different countries at the level of heads of state and government. Additionally, in collaboration with Egyptian authorities, Turkey has dispatched three planes filled with humanitarian aid materials to the region. President Erdoğan highlighted that Turkey will continue to extend its helping hand to the oppressed people in Gaza, who have been under blockade for 17 years.
However, President Erdoğan expressed his concern over the arrival of aircraft carriers in the region even after efforts were made to bring tranquility. He criticized the United Nations Security Council for its lack of effectiveness and failure to fulfill its responsibility. Furthermore, President Erdoğan called out western countries for their inaction, accusing them of adding fuel to the fire instead of upholding human rights and freedoms. He underscored the biased and hypocritical publications of international media organs that aimed to whitewash the ongoing massacre.
President Erdoğan condemned the bombing of innocent people in areas designated as “safe zones,” as well as the destruction of border gates, mosques, schools, and civilian settlements. He particularly mourned the heinous attack on Al Ehli Arab Hospital in Gaza, which he characterized as a crime against humanity and genocide. President Erdoğan held those who have exacerbated the situation with their statements since October 7 equally responsible for the heartbreaking massacre, emphasizing that the majority of the victims are children. He expressed prayers for the recovery of the wounded and mercy for the deceased, pledging Turkey’s continued efforts to establish a humanitarian ceasefire, followed by permanent stability.
The President’s social media post highlights the urgency of the situation in Gaza and the determination of Turkey and the Islamic world to address the ongoing crisis.
