President Ersin Tatar and First Lady Sibel Tatar Attend Inter-High School Poetry Competition

President Ersin Tatar and First Lady Sibel Tatar recently attended the “Inter-High School Poetry Literacy Competition” event, held for the third consecutive year at the Near East University Atatürk Culture and Congress Center. The event, organized under the auspices of the TRNC Presidency, in collaboration with the Presidential Culture and Arts Committee and the Ministry of National Education, saw students participating in poetry writing and poetry reading categories. Themes of the competition included “our beautiful country, our nature, and the most beautiful feeling, love.”

The selection committee determined the top three students who received an honorable mention. President Tatar expressed his gratitude to all involved in organizing the competition, including Director of the Ministry of National Education Cengiz Uzun, Presidential Social Services and Social Policies Advisor Aydan Başkurt, and the Presidential Culture and Arts Committee. He also acknowledged the students and teachers for their participation.

President Tatar emphasized the importance of providing opportunities for talented students in the field of poetry. He highlighted prominent Turkish Cypriot poets like Özker Yaşın, Harid Fedai, Oktay Öksüzoğlu, Mehmet Kansu, and Osman Türkay.
