President Mirziyoyev briefed on Fergana’s tourism and housing projects

Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the President of Uzbekistan, recently reviewed a presentation on the development of a tourism ring in the Fergana region. The aim of this initiative is to boost tourism in the region, which currently only saw 430,000 foreign visitors last year. The presidential press service stated that this number is inadequate considering the region’s rich history and beautiful scenery.

The tourism ring plan involves extending tourists’ stays from 3 to 7 days and doubling the number of tourist sites visited. The proposed route will include attractions in Fergana, Altyaryk, Kuva, and Uchkuprik districts, with a total of 577 points and 50 types of services along the way.

Furthermore, a project for the construction of a residential quarter in Margilan was also presented to the President. This area will cover 110 hectares and will include multi-story buildings with 5,000 apartments for 25,000 residents. Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed his awareness of the housing needs of the people in Margilan and emphasized the importance of providing modern homes for families.

In addition to the residential quarter, plans are in place to establish the Burhanuddin Margilani International Research Center, a Makom Art Theater, a Law Institute, and an Alley of Poets and Artists in the area. The project also includes the construction of 4 hotels, shopping complexes, and a park to enhance the overall tourist experience in Fergana.

Overall, these developments aim to attract more tourists to the Fergana region and showcase its cultural heritage and natural beauty to a wider audience.
