President Shavkat Mirziyoyev Reviews Proposals to Enhance Education Quality
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev recently met with officials to discuss ways to improve the quality of preschool and school education, as well as to enhance the system of advanced training for teachers. According to the press service of the President, the performance and interest of students in various subjects greatly depend on the knowledge and skills of teachers. Therefore, efforts are being made to improve teacher qualifications and enhance the knowledge assessment system.
During the meeting, officials presented various proposals in the area of education improvement. A new certification system based on advanced technologies has been introduced, with over 190 thousand teachers participating. As a result, 51 thousand teachers have been upgraded to higher categories.
It was emphasized that there is a need to continually encourage an increase in the number of professional and self-improving teachers in schools. Starting from September 2025, it is proposed to raise the salaries of teachers with the highest and first qualification categories.
Furthermore, instructions were given to develop and implement a specialized professional development program for teachers lacking certification and experience. Utilizing advanced training centers and teacher training colleges, a system of advanced training for kindergarten and school managers and teachers will be organized every 5 years.
Other proposals discussed included transferring 11 pedagogical colleges to the jurisdiction of Advanced Training Centers, creating schools with low loads, implementing the Presidential Schools Assessment System in more schools, equipping schools with interactive whiteboards and computer classes, and establishing a National Institute of Educational Pedagogy.
The meeting also addressed the introduction of international methods into sportsmanship education and improving the quality of education and training. President Mirziyoyev gave instructions to focus on enhancing teacher training quality and implementing a fair assessment and incentive system.
