Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov Visits Malaysia to Strengthen Bilateral Relations
President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, embarked on an official visit to Malaysia on December 18, as part of Turkmenistan’s efforts to develop constructive relations with countries in the Asia-Pacific region. This foreign policy approach is based on principles of neutrality, peacefulness, and mutually beneficial cooperation with nations worldwide.
Turkmenistan and Malaysia share friendly relations rooted in traditions of mutual respect. Currently, the two countries collaborate effectively within international organizations such as the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the Non-Aligned Movement.
High-level visits play a significant role in enhancing interstate cooperation, as demonstrated by previous visits from National Leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Malaysia in 2011 and 2016, as well as visits from Malaysian government officials to Turkmenistan in 2014 and 2019. The bilateral agreements signed during these visits serve as a solid foundation for further cooperation.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov’s inaugural visit to Malaysia and the anticipated high-level discussions will advance the traditional relations between the two nations and broaden the scope of collaboration.
This visit signifies a commitment to strengthening ties and fostering mutual understanding between Turkmenistan and Malaysia.
