
President of Turkmenistan Meets with European Commissioner for International Partnerships

President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, met with the European Commissioner for International Partnerships, Jozef Sikela, on March 12, 2025.
During the meeting, the European Commissioner expressed gratitude for the opportunity to discuss the multifaceted cooperation between the European Union and Turkmenistan. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov welcomed Jozef Sikela and highlighted the importance of their discussions, including a visit to the Turkmenbashy International Seaport.
The partnership between Turkmenistan and the European Union was praised for its successful development, particularly in political and diplomatic ties. Both parties emphasized the importance of cooperation in various areas such as science, education, ecology, energy, and transport.
Turkmenistan’s strategic location was also a point of discussion, with a focus on the country’s efforts to enhance transport connectivity through projects like the North-South and East-West transport corridors. The Turkmenbashy International Seaport, in particular, was highlighted as a key player in facilitating trade and economic ties between Eurasian countries.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence in the continued development of mutually beneficial cooperation with the European Union, and both parties exchanged best regards at the end of the meeting.
