President of Turkmenistan Meets with Head of Turkmen-Austrian Society
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov of Turkmenistan recently met with the head of the Turkmen-Austrian Society, Neda Berger, who was in Ashgabat to participate in cultural events honoring the 300th anniversary of the birth of the renowned Turkmen poet and thinker, Magtymguly Fragi.
During the meeting, President Berdimuhamedov welcomed Neda Berger to Turkmenistan and expressed his belief that her visit would contribute significantly to strengthening the partnership between Turkmenistan and Austria. He emphasized the importance of cultural and humanitarian ties in the relationship between the two countries, commending the creative initiatives led by Neda Berger that have fostered cultural cooperation.
Specifically, President Berdimuhamedov highlighted the Turkmen-Austrian Symphony Orchestra “Galkynyş” and the Vienna Balls organized by the Turkmen-Austrian Society as key cultural events that have enriched the cultural exchange between Turkmenistan and Austria. Looking ahead, they discussed plans for the establishment of the House of Austria in Ashgabat in 2025 and the potential for hosting the sixth Vienna Ball in Turkmenistan this year.
Neda Berger took the opportunity to congratulate President Berdimuhamedov, the government, and the people of Turkmenistan on the celebrations commemorating Magtymguly Fragi’s legacy. She praised Turkmenistan’s commitment to peace and friendship, as reflected in the poet’s works. President Berdimuhamedov, in turn, expressed his appreciation for Neda Berger’s efforts to strengthen bilateral relations and wished her continued success and well-being.
