
President of Turkmenistan Meets with President of Kazakhstan

Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan Strengthen Bilateral Relations
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov recently met with President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev during a working visit to the Kazakh capital. The meeting, attended by members of both countries’ delegations, highlighted the strong desire to enhance multifaceted interstate relations.
President Tokayev expressed gratitude to President Berdimuhamedov for his support and commitment to strengthening cooperation in various sectors such as trade, economics, transport, energy, and industry. Both leaders acknowledged the significant potential for further collaboration in these areas.
The two presidents also discussed humanitarian partnerships, with President Tokayev thanking Turkmenistan for unveiling a monument to the renowned poet and thinker Makhtumkuli Fragi in Astana. President Berdimuhamedov conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
President Berdimuhamedov expressed gratitude for the warm reception and extended greetings from Chairman Berdimuhamedov to President Tokayev. He also invited President Tokayev to participate in the International Forum commemorating the 300th anniversary of Makhtumkuli Fragi’s birth later this year.
The meeting also addressed the importance of the transport sector, particularly in using the trans-Caspian transport corridor and enhancing cooperation along the Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran railway. Both leaders affirmed their commitment to strengthening energy sector negotiations.
Cultural and humanitarian cooperation was also emphasized, with plans for reciprocal cultural days and the erection of a monument to Kazakh poet Abai Kunanbayev in Ashgabat. The presidents expressed confidence in further strengthening Turkmen-Kazakh cooperation and exchanged best wishes for their countries.
Members of the official delegations held bilateral meetings to discuss mutual cooperation in trade, economics, transport, energy, and industry. The discussions aimed to explore opportunities for collaboration and deepen the longstanding ties between Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan.
