President Reports 86% Growth in China-Azerbaijan Transit Transportation

Azerbaijan’s Growing Role in Global Transit Transportation
In a recent interview with China Global Television Network (CGTN) in Beijing, President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan highlighted the country’s remarkable growth in transit transportation, specifically noting an impressive 86% increase in cargo transit between China and Azerbaijan over the past year.
Aliyev explained that Azerbaijan has established a joint venture with its neighboring countries to streamline cargo passage, making it faster and more efficient. Thanks to significant advancements in transportation infrastructure and customs administration, including digitalization efforts, the transit time for cargo traveling from China to the Black Sea via Azerbaijan is now reduced to just 10 to 12 days.
The President emphasized that this growth is merely the beginning of Azerbaijan’s potential as a vital transit hub. He expressed confidence that transportation routes crossing Azerbaijan will become some of the safest, shortest, and most appealing options available in the region.
Strategically located at the crossroads of Asia and Europe, as well as between North and South, Azerbaijan serves as a key transit corridor. However, Aliyev stressed the importance of maintaining strong relationships with neighboring countries to truly enhance Azerbaijan’s role as a significant transit hub. He affirmed that efforts to cultivate these relationships have been successful.
As Azerbaijan continues to develop its transit capacity, it positions itself as a crucial player in international trade routes, offering efficient and reliable transportation solutions for global businesses.
