President Tatar acknowledges international tournaments as a platform for young people to compete globally
President Ersin Tatar Attends Golden Ribbon International Rhythmic Gymnastic Tournament
President Ersin Tatar recently attended the 1st Golden Ribbon International Rhythmic Gymnastic Tournament, which took place in Girne Ertuğrul Apakan Sports Hall. The tournament, held in memory of Berkant Buyer, was organized by the Gymnastics Federation and the Golden Ribbon Rhythmic Gymnastics Club.
The event saw the participation of nearly 100 gymnasts, including athletes from Ukraine, Russia, and Turkey. President Tatar had the honor of presenting medals to the top gymnasts. The tournament also featured an exciting show by the renowned duo Dmitry and Katerina from Israel.
During his speech at the event, President Tatar expressed his delight in witnessing the gathering of local girls and foreign gymnasts in the tournament. He emphasized the importance of organizing international events in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and highlighted the positive impact they have on the development of sports culture and the unity of young people.
President Tatar extended his congratulations to Lidya Alici, the President of the Golden Ribbon Rhythmic Gymnastics Club, for successfully organizing the tournament and attracting gymnasts from abroad. He also took a moment to remember Berkant Alici, in whose memory the event was held.
The 1st Golden Ribbon International Rhythmic Gymnastic Tournament served as a testament to the TRNC’s commitment to fostering sports excellence and promoting cultural exchange through international sporting events.
