Prime Minister Ünal Üstel Pays Visits to Families of Fallen Heroes
Prime Minister Ünal Üstel recently visited the homes of Mücahit Hasan Turgut and the family of the late Mücahit İbrahim Karahasan. The visits took place ahead of Father’s Day and Eid al-Adha. During these visits, Prime Minister Üstel presented the Mujahideen Medals to Hasan Turgut and Karahasan’s wife, Kadriye Karahasan.
In a statement released by the Prime Ministry, Prime Minister Üstel expressed his wishes for God’s mercy upon all the martyrs who fought for the country, the homeland, the flag, and the Turkish Cypriots’ right to live freely and with human dignity. He highlighted the importance of remembering and honoring their sacrifices.
Prime Minister Üstel stated, “Today, on the occasion of Father’s Day, I am delighted to visit our Mujahideen and present them with our National Struggle Medal in recognition of their service for our sacred cause.” He emphasized the bravery and selflessness of the mujahideen, who risked their lives for their country.
“We have not forgotten your struggle, and we will never let it be forgotten,” Prime Minister Üstel assured the families during his visits. He acknowledged that the current generation enjoys the fruits of the mujahideen’s past sacrifices and expressed gratitude for their dedication to defending the TRNC flag and state.
The son of Hasan Turgut, Rifat Turgut, and Kadriye Karahasan, the wife of İbrahim Karahasan, also expressed their gratitude to Prime Minister Ünal Üstel for the meaningful visit and medal presentation. They expressed their pride in their loved ones’ service and struggle. “Such a medal has made us immensely proud. Thank you, our Prime Minister,” they remarked.
These visits serve as a reminder of the sacrifices made by the mujahideen and ensure that their contributions to the nation’s history are remembered and honored.
