Prime Minister Üstel Commemorates 32nd Anniversary of Khojaly Massacre
Prime Minister Ünal Üstel of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) has issued a statement marking the 32nd anniversary of the Khojaly massacre, expressing unwavering support for Azerbaijan in its pursuit of justice.
The tragic events of February 26, 1992, saw 613 innocent Azerbaijani civilians brutally murdered and hundreds more injured by Armenian armed forces in the city of Khojaly, located in the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan. Prime Minister Üstel acknowledged the pain and suffering inflicted upon the Azerbaijani people during this dark chapter in history.
Despite the horrors of the Khojaly massacre, the Prime Minister drew attention to the resilience and courage displayed by the Azerbaijani people in the First Karabakh War of 2020. He paid tribute to the victims of the massacre and expressed condolences to the people of Azerbaijan, emphasizing the solidarity between their nations as “one nation, three states”.
As the TRNC continues to stand by Azerbaijan in its rightful struggle for justice and peace, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel reaffirmed the commitment to support their ally in seeking accountability for the atrocities committed during the Khojaly massacre.
