Prime Minister Üstel participates in Değirmenlik election certificate ceremony
Prime Minister Ünal Üstel recently attended a certificate of election ceremony in Değirmenlik, Nicosia district, where he highlighted the successful work of his administration.
During his speech at the ceremony, Üstel expressed gratitude for the support received during various visits and events leading up to the congress. He emphasized that the primary focus of his government is the people of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), stating, “Our sole concern is our people and the TRNC. We came to office with the passion to serve our people and are diligently working on completing necessary projects in our country.”
One of the notable achievements highlighted by Üstel was the completion of the New Ercan Airport, which has significantly benefitted the Değirmenlik region. He noted that the new airport has led to a substantial increase in the number of tourists visiting the country. In the first 8 months of 2023, 2 million 457 thousand 97 passengers used the old Ercan Airport, but with the opening of the new airport in 2024, this number rose to 3 million 48 thousand 615 during the same period.
Üstel also emphasized the importance of maintaining close connections with the people of the TRNC, stating that despite the busy schedule of government work, he has prioritized visiting various regions and meeting with citizens and party members. He highlighted the unity and strength that comes from these interactions, noting that this unity will propel them forward with power and stability until 2027.
In conclusion, Üstel reaffirmed the commitment of the National Unity Party (UBP) to continue serving the people and aspire to power with determination in the upcoming 2027 elections. The government’s focus on unity and togetherness will guide them in their efforts to enhance the well-being of the TRNC.
