Private Clinics in Kyrgyzstan Now Authorized to Administer Preventative Vaccinations
Kyrgyzstan to Expand Preventive Vaccination Services to Private Clinics
Citizens of Kyrgyzstan will soon have more options for receiving preventive vaccinations, as a proposal has been submitted to amend the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic “On Public Health” to allow for vaccinations to be administered in private clinics. Currently, vaccinations included in the national immunization schedule are mainly given in public healthcare facilities, creating challenges for patients seeking care in private clinics.
The Ministry of Health has highlighted that this current system requires patients to visit multiple medical institutions for comprehensive treatment, causing inconvenience and placing heavy workloads on public clinics. To address these issues, the proposal aims to permit private medical organizations to provide preventive vaccinations, with specific procedures to be established by the Cabinet of Ministers.
The Ministry of Health believes that this change will lead to a more efficient vaccination system, reduce administrative barriers for citizens, and increase immunization coverage, ultimately improving the country’s epidemiological situation. This move aligns with Kyrgyzstan’s larger de-bureaucratization initiative, which seeks to streamline processes in state institutions.
As part of this broader effort, the government is considering outsourcing national immunization services and expanding private-sector involvement in areas such as cancer treatment. These initiatives demonstrate Kyrgyzstan’s commitment to improving healthcare access and delivery for its citizens.
