Problems Arise with New Electricity Billing System, Users Complain of Unforeseen Debts
Social media users in Uzbekistan are up in arms over unexpected debts and unusually high electricity bills. Many consumers have taken to social media platforms to express their frustration with the new billing system for electricity accounting.
According to reports, payments made by consumers are not being reflected in their personal accounts. As a result, some users have found themselves in debt while others have noticed a significant spike in their energy consumption.
In response to these complaints, the Tashkent City “Regional Electric Networks” Joint-Stock Company has advised citizens against logging into their personal accounts for the time being. The company has acknowledged errors in the new system and assured customers that specialists are working on resolving the issue.
A statement released by the Regional Electric Networks JSC stated, “Currently, specialists are working on updating the data between the new electricity accounting program and other payment systems. The update will be completed as quickly as possible. For now, we do not recommend monitoring balance information through the personal account.”
As consumers eagerly await a resolution to this issue, it is important for them to monitor their electricity usage and bills closely to avoid any financial surprises. Stay tuned for updates on the situation as it develops.
