Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir appointed to new mission.
Former President of Defense Industries, Professor Dr. İsmail Demir, has been appointed as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of KARDEMİR KARABÜK DEMİR ÇELİK SANAYİ VE TİCARET A.Ş. following his resignation from his previous position. Demir replaced Alparslan Bayraktar as the Chairman of the Board.
According to a statement released by KARDEMİR, “Our Company’s Chairman of the Board Mr. Dr. Alparslan BAYRAKTAR has resigned from his duties as Chairman and Member of the Board of Directors. The first general assembly, to be held in accordance with Article 363 of the Turkish Commercial Code No. 6102 and Article 11 of our Company’s Articles of Association, with the decision of the Board of Directors, has appointed Mr. prof. Dr. İsmail DEMİR.”
Professor Dr. İsmail Demir had been serving as the President of Defense Industries since April 2014, before being replaced by Professor Dr. Haluk Gorgun with the Presidential Decree numbered 2023/286 and dated 05.06.2023.
This new appointment comes as Demir starts a new chapter in his already impressive career in the defense industry. KARDEMİR, a leading steel company in Turkey, will benefit greatly from his experience and leadership.
