Progress Continues on Horadiz-Aghband Railway Line

The construction of the Horadiz-Aghband railway line is well underway, with significant progress being made on both the design and construction works. According to Azerbaijan Railways CJSC, 83% of the design works and 63% of the construction and installation works have been finalized.

Currently, 75.6 km of the 110.4 km long railway line has been completed, including 87 km with side tracks. Additionally, 65.6 km of long rails have been installed along the axis. This project also includes the construction of 534 engineering structures, eight stations, and the installation of 70 track switching devices.

Once completed, the Horadiz-Aghband railway line will serve as a crucial transport artery for the Zangazur corridor, connecting Azerbaijan’s main territory with the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. It will also play a significant role in enhancing East-West-East cargo transportation as a new segment of the Middle Corridor.
