Promising Partnerships in Renewable Energy with the Czech Republic
Minister of Commerce Ömer Bolat recently participated in the Türkiye-Czechia Business Forum, where the economic ties between the two countries were discussed in detail. During his speech, Bolat emphasized the importance of highlighting cooperation opportunities and strengthening partnerships between Turkish and Czech business communities.
Bolat highlighted the significant growth in bilateral trade over the past 20 years, with the current trade volume standing at around 6 billion dollars. He expressed optimism about achieving a foreign trade target of 10 billion dollars in the next few years, citing opportunities in various sectors for further expansion and diversification of trade.
The Minister invited Czech investors to explore the potential in Türkiye, especially in areas such as renewable energy, mobility, smart cities, and artificial intelligence. Bolat also pointed out the opportunities for cooperation in the energy sector, particularly in renewable energy, where Czechia is a major investor.
In the field of renewable energy, Bolat sees promising prospects for collaboration, considering the challenges posed by global energy supply dynamics. He underlined the roles of both countries in renewable energy production and stressed the potential for joint R&D projects.
Furthermore, Minister Bolat mentioned potential joint projects in various regions, including Eurasia, Central Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. He highlighted Türkiye’s strong domestic market and educated workforce as attractive factors for Czech companies looking to expand their reach.
Czech Minister of Industry and Trade Jozef Sikela also expressed excitement about exploring opportunities in key sectors such as energy, automotive, smart cities, and digital transformation. Sikela praised the stable partnership between the two countries, despite challenges posed by global circumstances, and emphasized the shared commitment to economic prosperity.
The bilateral cooperation received a boost with the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Türkiye and Czechia, highlighting the commitment to further strengthen economic ties and collaborate on specific projects. The successful Business Forum marks a positive step towards enhancing economic relations between the two countries.
