Promoting Digital Innovation in Turkmenistan’s Civil Sector: USAID’s Efforts

USAID Holds Fourth Annual Civic Forum in Turkmenistan
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) recently convened its fourth annual Civic Forum in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan. The forum brought together representatives from various government ministries and civil society organizations to discuss the implementation of the State Program on Digital Economy Development for 2019-2025.
In an increasingly digital world, the USAID recognizes the importance of digitalization for the success of organizations. The forum aimed to equip Turkmenistan’s civil sector with innovative digital skills, focusing on strategies for digital engagement, the national legal framework for digitalization, and the benefits of digital technologies in promoting social welfare, healthcare, and education.
USAID’s support for Turkmenistan’s comprehensive digital economic development strategy is in line with the government’s goals. By facilitating collaboration between government agencies and civil society, USAID seeks to enrich the civil sector’s legal and digital literacy and strengthen its role in societal advancements.
The Civic Forum served as a platform for meaningful discussions and the exchange of ideas on how to harness digital solutions for the development of Turkmenistan’s economy and society. With the continued support of USAID, the country is well-positioned to embrace digital innovation and drive progress for the benefit of its citizens.
