Proposed Digital Code Presented to Kyrgyzstan’s Parliament

Kyrgyzstan Submits Draft Digital Code to Parliament for Consideration
The Draft Digital Code, developed in Kyrgyzstan, has been submitted to the Parliament for consideration, announced Minister of Digital Development Nuriya Kutnaeva at a press conference.
The purpose of the Digital Code is to create favorable conditions for the protection and implementation of human rights and freedoms in the digital sphere. The main goal of the document is to develop the country’s digital economy and increase its investment attractiveness.
In February 2024, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Japarov highlighted at the Digital Kyrgyzstan Forum that the introduction of the Digital Code would be a crucial step in strengthening the legal framework for the digital transformation of the Kyrgyz Republic. He stated that the new Code will consolidate all digital norms in one document, simplifying the interaction of citizens, businesses, and government agencies with digital services.
Japarov emphasized that the Digital Code aims to eliminate legal conflicts and inconsistencies in legislation while creating a unified legal basis for an effective transition to a digital state. This, according to him, will serve as the foundation for the further development of the digital economy and bolstering the information security of Kyrgyzstan.
