Prosecutor’s Office Seeks to Overturn Kempir-Abad Acquittal

The Prosecutor’s office is seeking to overturn the acquittal verdict in the Kempir-Abad case, as reported by politician Ravshan Dzheenbekov on Facebook. Prosecutors Abyshev, Baibagysheva, and Osmonaliev have appealed to the Bishkek City Court to cancel the sentence of the Pervomaisky District Court against multiple individuals involved in the case.

The supervisory body is requesting to cancel the verdict for Mambetzhunus Abylov, Aidanbek Akmatov, Nurlan Asanbekov, and many others involved in the case. State prosecutors are asking the court to sentence all the defendants to 10 years in prison for “Mass Riots” and 15 years for “Seizure of Power”, totaling 20 years in prison with property confiscation for all the accused.

Despite the prosecution’s requests, on June 14, the district court acquitted all the defendants due to the lack of corpus delicti. The case continues to unfold as the legal battle over the Kempir-Abad case progresses.
