Spanish Goalkeeper Sergio Rico Recovers and Exits Intensive Care After 1.5 Months
Spanish goalkeeper Sergio Rico, who had a fall while riding a horse, has finally been released from intensive care after spending 1.5 months there. The good news was shared by Rico’s wife, Alba Silva, who informed the Spanish press that her husband had been transferred from the intensive care unit to the hospital service department.
“We are delighted that we can now be with Sergio around the clock. This is a huge relief for us,” expressed Silva. She further revealed that Rico has already started his rehabilitation process, although the exact date of his discharge from the hospital is yet to be determined.
Next week, friends and family members will also be allowed to visit Rico in the hospital, as stated in the announcement. This will undoubtedly lift the spirits of the goalkeeper, as he continues to recover.
It is essential to recall that Sergio Rico, 29, serves as the backup goalkeeper for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), a prominent football team in France. Following PSG’s league championship victory, Rico attended a festival in the town of El Rocio in Huelva city on May 28, where unfortunately the incident occurred leading to his hospitalization.
