Public Foundation Representative Arrested for Selling Hashish in Bishkek

On October 8, 2024, officers of the State Service on Drug Control in the Kyrgyz Republic detained a 34-year-old man suspected of organizing a drug distribution channel. The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that the detainee is the deputy curator of a public foundation in Pervomaisky district of Bishkek.
The officers received information about an unknown man who had been selling drugs for a long time and established a stable supply channel from Toktogul district to Chui region. A case was opened under the article “Illegal production of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their analogues without the intent to sell” of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The suspect, identified as 34-year-old A.D., was apprehended in Bishkek at the intersection of Suerkulov and Yunusaliev streets. During a search, two matchboxes containing hashish were seized from the detainee, with a total weight of 23.81 grams. The man has been placed in a temporary detention facility, and the investigation is ongoing. Law enforcement officers are actively working to identify any other individuals involved in this criminal activity.
