New Punishment Methods Planned for Civil Servants in Kyrgyz Republic

Bishkek – 15:07, 12 February 2025 – The Department for Control over the Execution of Decisions of the President and the Cabinet of Ministers in Kyrgyzstan is planning to introduce new methods of punishment for civil servants. Azamat Osmonov, the head of the department, announced this during a briefing.

Osmonov emphasized the need for effective punishments to ensure accountability among civil servants. He mentioned that currently, there are no restrictions in place for civil servants who have been reprimanded multiple times, allowing them to continue working without facing serious consequences.

To address this issue, a new punishment mechanism is being developed that will include immediate dismissal for employees who have been severely reprimanded. Additionally, civil servants may be deprived of bonuses and face salary reductions as part of the disciplinary measures.

Furthermore, an amendment to the Code of Administrative Offenses is in the works, which will include a fine of 10,000 soms for civil servants who fail to meet deadlines for considering citizens’ appeals. This is aimed at improving the efficiency and accountability of state bodies in Kyrgyzstan.
