Putin Criticizes Biden, Saying He Failed
President Joe Biden was honored at a military farewell ceremony organized by the Department of Defense at Myer Hernderson Base in Virginia. During his speech, President Biden praised the US army as the “greatest fighting force in the history of the world” and expressed his gratitude to the soldiers serving in various parts of the world, including Afghanistan, Ukraine, and the Middle East.
President Biden also commented on the situation in Ukraine, attributing Russia’s invasion to the US army’s withdrawal from Afghanistan and calling it the “largest war in Europe since World War II.” He noted that despite Russia’s efforts, they have failed to take Kiev and make major territorial gains.
Furthermore, President Biden highlighted the US’s efforts in the Middle East, including supporting Israel against Iran’s attacks and reaching a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas. He commended the efforts of diplomats and defense experts in achieving the ceasefire, which was announced in May 2024.
Regarding the ceasefire, while Hamas was positive about it, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed opposition. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin also spoke at the ceremony, praising President Biden for mobilizing global allies to support Ukraine and forming new alliances in the Pacific against China.
Austin described President Biden as one of the great foreign policy-making presidents in US history and awarded him and First Lady Jill Biden with a distinguished service medal and certificate for their public service. The ceremony at Myer Hernderson Base was a fitting tribute to President Biden’s leadership and dedication to the country’s armed forces.
