Putin’s First Public Statement on Crimean Bridge Attack!
Russian President Vladimir Putin has condemned the recent attack on the Crimean Bridge as a “terrorist attack” and has called for immediate repair work to be carried out. The explosion on the bridge, which connects the annexed Crimean Peninsula to Russia, was attributed to a joint operation by Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) and their Navy, according to an unnamed source.
The explosion resulted in the death of a mother and father in a car, while their daughters were injured. Russia quickly blamed Ukraine for the attack, while the SBU source claimed responsibility for the joint operation. An official investigation has been launched, and the explosion is said to have been carried out using surface drones.
The Crimean Bridge holds significant strategic importance for Russia as it connects the Krasnodar region of Russia with the Crimean Peninsula, which was annexed from Ukraine in 2014. Despite a previous incident in which a fuel tanker explosion damaged the 19-kilometer-long bridge, Russia was able to quickly conduct repairs. The bridge, which cost 3.7 billion dollars to build, plays a crucial role in supporting Russian troops in the south of Ukraine and in transporting supplies to Kherson.
Following the incident, the Russian Foreign Ministry accused Ukraine, stating that the Ukrainian government is responsible for the attack. Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, described the Kiev regime as a “terrorist regime” and likened it to an international organized crime organization.
The attack on the Crimean Bridge has prompted an official investigation by Russia. Meanwhile, tensions continue to rise between Ukraine and Russia, with the recent incident serving as another point of contention between the two countries.
