Racist Attack in Novi Sad: “Hungarian Bastard, You Should be Killed”
A well-known musician in Novi Sad, Serbia, was attacked by an unknown man on Sunday afternoon. The attacker was reportedly shouting and swearing loudly in the street, targeting the musician with insults and curses. The musician, Ivan Fece Firči, who does not claim to be Hungarian, was also the target of physical damage to his car.
According to Fece, the assailant verbally abused him, damaged his car, and attempted to physically harm him. After the initial attack, the aggressor walked away but later returned to continue the altercation. Three men approached the musician, offering him money to prevent him from contacting the police. Despite the offer, Fece refused the money and immediately called the authorities.
When the police arrived, they took the assailant into custody. However, even while handcuffed, the attacker continued to berate the musician and the officers. Fece, during his testimony at the police station, clarified that he does not identify with any specific nationality, citing his mixed heritage.
The incident has sparked concerns over the rise of racially motivated attacks in the region. The local community has expressed support for the musician and condemned the actions of the attacker. The police are conducting further investigations into the matter to ensure justice is served.
