Rapid Growth: 30,000 Hectares of Fruit Orchards Planted in Azerbaijan in 5 Years

Over the past five years, Azerbaijan has made significant strides in expanding its fruit orchards, with more than 30,000 hectares being planted. This development was highlighted by Ilhama Gulimova, Deputy Minister of Agriculture, during a session of the Milli Majlis Committee on Agrarian Policy.
Gulimova emphasized that improving irrigation systems is a top priority in Azerbaijan’s agricultural sector. This focus on enhancing irrigation infrastructure is crucial for supporting the growth and health of the newly planted fruit orchards.
The expansion of fruit orchards in Azerbaijan not only contributes to the country’s agricultural productivity but also holds potential for boosting the economy and providing valuable exports. With a continued emphasis on modernizing irrigation systems and enhancing agricultural practices, Azerbaijan is poised to further strengthen its position as a key player in the region’s agricultural sector.
